HW420 Creating Wellness
Today's thoughts have been rushed and hectic after the holiday but I settled in after my children were in bed and was able to take a part in this activity. I closed ym eyes and took a few breathes and started to think about what aspects ned attention. I think I am most likely going to say following through with my intentions.I want to eat a healthier meal or less of it to be exact. I am on a strict regimine of healthy foods but I tend to over eat. This causes for no weight loss and I suppose I should think of it as taking a step at a time but that is hard. Back to positivity.....my goal is so take it a step at a time and utilize this integral process in the mean time to calm my mind.

The Subtle Mind
This week in Creating Wellness HW420 one of the assignments were to listen to an mp3 of a woman advising on a way to get to the subtle mind. This experience to me was much better than the Loving Kindness to me personally. The waves were nice but they were a little annoying because I could tell it was like on repeat. I tried not to notice really.
I really like the expression "to tame the busy head". It fits my life right now and I think most everyone for that matter. If you have children you most likely will benefit from a few moments peace, as Professor Mark discussed in the seminar. I have two little girls and they are busy beavers most of the time so when bedtime arrives this subtle mind experience....sort of reminds me of the Jimi Hendrix experience, not really but I like that term......anyway it is nice. I am able to let the thoughts roll out just as fast as they roll through my head. I love knowing I have this capability, it is freedom from everything stressful in my day to day life. Doing this exersice daily or something like it like lying in bed before I fall asleep and thinking about only breathing.
On another note my two puppies are 3 weeks old, just opened their eyes yesterday, and they are so fat and cute. It really brings my joy watching my girls and the puppies mother all of us together happy and alive.

Loving Kindness
The exercise in Unit 4 from the Loving Kindness mp3 I listened to was very relaxing. I wish there were more descriptions of what to think about because sometimes I was confused. Maybe this is something that takes more than one day like the book suggests; to try this every day for a week. That is something I would like to try. I am hoping that it brings me peace because my anxiety has had the best of me lately. One reason is that my beautiful dog Midnight (7 year old healer) had a litter of eight puppies prematurely and all passed but two. I fed the others puppy formula every couple of hours but they passed one by one within 3 days of being born, today being the 3rd day of life. I hate to see animals/pets pass away; my daughters and I had a small funeral in our backyard this afternoon. But I am happy that the remaining two pups seem to be feeding from the mother very well on their own. Dogs in particular have always been close to me and stress relieving. I am having a better day after trying this exercise and thinking about my loved ones and myself for a change.

Reflecting HW420
From the ferris wheel ride at our local fair this past month.
This weeks assignment requires me to reflect on my physical, psychological and spiritual well-being on a scale from 1-10. My physical well- being I would rate a 9 because I feel good and I am in good health but I need to lose a few pounds, that is my goal anyway but overall I think my body is responding to eating right more so now that I am actually doing it more often. I would consider my psychological well-being a 6 because I have anxiety from time to time and it really bothers me. I can't explain it, prevent it nor do anything about it to stop it. The relaxing techniques may come in handy as a goal also and I will try them next time I am feeling anxious. Spiritually I would say a 7 because I do not practice a religion per say but I enjoy yoga and meditation regualarly. Yoga opens my mind and it never fails to make me feel better after I have done it for at least 15 to 30 minutes every morning. I would like to make a goal to practice yoga in the afternoon also because I am aspiring yoga instructor.
The rainbow meditation technique was fun, I really liked it and I will be sharing it some friends. I think it is beneficial doing the visual techniques.
